Let your assistants check names, register domains, and point them at your site through Porkbun. Registering and DNS changes wait for your Approve. Coming soon.
Porkbun is a domain registrar. Once you connect it, your assistants can check whether a name is free, list the domains you own, register a new one, and point a domain at your site. Registering a domain and every DNS change stop at your Approve.
Points a domain at your site, and registers one when your company has no Product owner
When your company has a Product owner, it is the one that registers domains. Changing DNS records and nameservers is always the Coder's job. Either one hands the other a request that belongs to it, so you can ask whichever you are talking to.
Checking names and listing your domains happen on their own.
Registering a domain always waits for your Approve. The request shows what Porkbun charges now and for each renewal year, and names the registrant contact that will be used. A name check only says whether a name is free. Nothing is registered until you approve.
Setting DNS records or nameservers always waits for your Approve, and the request lists exactly what will change.
None of these depend on your Auto-approve choices in Settings: there is no switch that skips the Approve. See approvals.
Just before it registers, the assistant asks Porkbun again. If the name was taken in the meantime, or Porkbun now charges more than you approved, nothing is registered and the assistant tells you why.
To use other registrant details for one domain, reply with them before you approve. The assistant posts a new request with those details.
Porkbun limits how much can be registered through access keys each month. You can change that limit in your Porkbun account.
Porkbun does not register every ending. If a name cannot be registered with Porkbun, the assistant says so.
The access key and secret are saved in your StellarFirm workspace and never shown again. To cut access, delete the key in Porkbun.
