Ahrefs is an SEO tool. Once you connect it, Marketing can look up what people search for, which pages rank, and who links to whom, and use it in SEO briefs, competitor notes, and content plans instead of guessing.

What assistants can do#
Ahrefs connects through Ahrefs' own hosted server, and it is read only.

Setup (when it opens)#
- In Ahrefs, open Account settings and choose Generate MCP key. Use the MCP key: other Ahrefs keys do not work here.
- Open Integrations in StellarFirm and pick Ahrefs.
- Paste the MCP key, switch on the live option, and press Connect.
Permissions#
- Nothing here waits for an Approve because nothing here changes data.
- Your Ahrefs plan needs API access, and each lookup uses your plan's API units. Ask for a focused lookup to keep the count low.
- Revoke the MCP key in Ahrefs whenever you want to cut access.
Good to know#
- Name the site, the country, and the topic. "Keywords for invoicing software in Germany" beats "some keywords".
- Marketing says where every number came from and never invents search volumes or rankings.
